A texture for myself

  <A texture for myself> starts with the idea of naturalness. This is a form and direction that is created naturally with the time especially without giving any forces. The texture could be deformed or dulled when it is influenced by external factors such as a certain situation or relationship. However, if texture does not deviate from its axis, it will naturally accept external factors while maintaining its form of determination.

  The object in the artwork has an unfinished texture without any artificial touch such as wrinkles on human skin and veins of plants. Suppose you put a drop of paint on the object. It can proceed in any directions with the waves caused by the drop, spreading or absorbing themselves. Although the result from adding external elements could take a respectively different form, the object in the artwork does not lose its original form within it. By adding the touch of paint to the unique texture, I tried to express a plural form, having its own traits, though, that naturally accepts external influences without losing its original texture.

  <결>은 자연스러움에 관한 생각에서 시작한다. 이것은 시간이 흐름에 따라 자연스럽게 만들어지는 형과 방향성이다. 결은 어떤 상황이나 관계 등 외부적인 요소의 영향을 받으면 변형되거나 무뎌지기도 한다. 하지만, 그럼에도 자신의 중심을 잃지 않는다면 결의 형태를 유지하면서도 외부 요인을 자연스럽게 받아들이게 된다.

  이미지 속 대상은 살갗의 주름이나, 식물의 잎맥과 같이 다듬어지지 않은 결을 가지고 있다. 이 대상에 물감을 떨어트리면 힘을 주지 않아도 대상이 가진 결의 방향을 따라 흐르거나, 퍼지거나, 흡수된다. 외부 요인이 더해진 대상은 제각기 다른 모습으로 나타나면서도 원래의 형태를 잃지 않는다. 본래의 결을 유지하면서도 외부의 영향을 자연스럽게 받아들이는 복합적인 형상을 나타내고 싶었다.
